SALVATION

I am currently working on a project to understand what the Bible really says about salvation. In many places it is reduced to saying if a person accepts Jesus as their Saviour then everything is OK. But the Bible teaches that there is a lot more to it than that. If one wants Jesus as their Saviour, then they will need to accept Him as their Lord by giving glory to God through their character, community, service, advocacy, discipling others and worship in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Church seems to partition areas of what the Bible says – the religious bit, the social bit or whatever, when the Scriptures are about an integrated faith. So, out there, there are a lot of people who think that they are Christians when they are not really. That does not mean we have to be perfect, but there needs to be an openness to learn and apply what God teaches through the Bible. If everyone disciples others to disciple others in a whole life way, we would begin to see real transformation of society and people.
